Congratulations to longtime reader Mike S. for the closest prediction last week of 61-21. Mike’s quote: “My son Collin says Hogs 72, UTEP 0. What can I say?”
What can we say…way to go Mike! This was his first RBN T-shirt win but seriously, folks…we should’ve sent Mike a T-shirt a while back just for his persistence. Looking back at our archives, Mike’s winning UTEP pick was the 32nd game prediction that he’s made dating back to 2007. Wow! Now…time to work on getting your son Collin a T-shirt, right Mike?
We don’t say it enough…but thanks again to Mike S. and everyone who stops by regularly to put their predictions out here. It’s one of the best things we do on this site and that’s because all of you make it so much fun each week.
Here we go:
Walking on Sunshine: The Bulldogs were overwhelmed 30-10 at Tuscaloosa last week. However, Saturday night is Senior Night in Starkville and looks like a good spot for a bounce-back performance. I get the feeling the Hogs may be looking ahead to LSU. Arkansas 28, Mississippi State 25.
HogBaller: A tough challenge on the road on Saturday, with the Hogs needing a win to keep their BCS bowl hopes alive. The Razorback program under Petrino takes another step forward. Arkansas 28, Mississippi State 17.
HogBlogger: Cow bells ring, but the focused Hogs aren’t listening. Whoever wins the physical play at the line will take the game. The Hogs definitely have more to play for. Arkansas 42, Mississippi State 24.
TipsterHog: There’s no doubt that Dan Mullen has something going in his two seasons in Starkville. For now, though, Bobby Petrino’s one year head start in Fayetteville is still the difference. Arkansas 34, Mississippi State 21.
Leave a comment with your name, e-mail address and pick. And feel free to add your own take like “What happens when you cross a Bulldog with a Shih Tzu?” or “No money…no Cam…no win. Hogs roll.”

Petrino will keep the focus on today. I think this team looks forward to playing this game on the road – the confidence is there.
Bulldogs are better this year, but The Razorbacks are on a Mission.

Hogs are confident and a true TEAM.. HOGS 41 DOGS 17
Hogs 42-20. First time all year that I've been confident in our game. We are looking strong. Cobi Hamilton and Knile Davis lead the way.
Mullen is an excellent coach but the Hogs have begun the Petrino era.
Arkansas 35-15
This one looks a lot like last year. MSU is getting better but unless the Hogs turn it over, there's no way they should score with the Arkansas offense. Mallett will take a few hits but connect on a couple deep balls and throw 4 TDs. I'll say 7 points closer than last year because the Dogs are at home.

Thanks for the T-shirt- 1 of 32 is not bad-
Will DVR the game because my brother is getting married at game time-
Hogs 45 State 13- A romp
A mear stepping stone closer to the battle for the golden boot. Hogs speed on defense and talent on offense will shine this weekend! Hogs 45 – Dogs 20
State is a scrappy bunch this year, but they don't have enough offensive firepower to keep up. Next weeks big showdown with Les U becomes a reality.

The Bulldogs and Mullen scare me. It will be a hard fought game for sure. But, I think the Hogs pull it out.

Hogs keep that BCS train rolling
Not many people know that we actually recruited Mr. Mallett to play here at MSU. He told me it would take a 2 yr supply of Schlitz Malt Liquor and Kool Menthols if we wanted his services. Then he called me "shorty" and walked off.
I'm not short.

Petrino has got 'em playing their best football of the year. Hogs win, in a very business like manner.

Ok… finally getting around to my prediction. I'm going for the Hogs 34-20. Why? Why not! I've already won 1 shirt this year… and came close to 2 others!

Anything can happen but…. the only thing that has kept the Hogs out of the endzone have been the…Hogs (Sitting on leads with GA and "Bama). Dogs have only scored high with cupcakes. MSU has not played a BCS opponent in 4 non-conference games including two non-FBS teams! Dogs are at home but will that help them get into the endzone (without the refs, that is)? Arkansas is recognized as one of two SEC teams (the other being Auburn) as being almost impossible to stop offensively. Keys to victory for Hogs (Duh): Red Zone defense against the run, pressure on Relf who is inconsistent, catch catchable passes, and have few turnovers and penalties. Don't look ahead to LSU.* Keys to victory for MSU: Put pressure on Mallet and get lucky. It may be senior day, but a lot depends on the attitude of the MSU team and coaches who may or may not be looking forward to Ole Miss. Arkansas needs to build an early lead and presure MSU to go to the pass. Relf might have his way in the middle of the field but not in the Red Zone. Early lead broke USC's spirit, and may also work against MSU. All things considered, including home field advantage, Hogs 41, Dogs 14.
*If Ole Miss doesn't do well against LSU (most likely at Death Valley), Nutt will probably go all out for MSU at home. It worked for Spurrier to prioritize his opponents. This must be on Mullen's mind. A win over Arkansas but a loss to Ole Miss would be a sour end to a season, especially considering the lopsided series record. I thought that USC was looking ahead to Florida and I suspect the same mind games might also be at work here. I get the impression that Arkansas' offense still doesn't get enough respect from opponents based on previous performances such as poor road record and second half collapses. This has worked to the Hog's advantage this year. However, I don't know which team here is the most overconfident, although the Alabama game should have shook MSU up somewhat. The Hogs appear from newspaper reports to be quietly very self assured.
Feeling good, but Mullens is good

Hope it's not this close but at least I picked a win
38-21 Hogs Davis will run wild again, gaining over a hundo and hitting pay dirt at least twice. Mallet will get his normal 300+ and 3 TDs. Another all-around complete game, setting up a big one next week in the Rock. Go Hogs Go!
