Big Hat, No Cattle

The latest announcement of suspensions comes as no surprise. I’ll freely admit that I’ve gotten used to negativity when it comes to news surrounding the Razorback basketball team under John Pelphrey.

Making Some Noise

I got a chance to attend my first football practice of the season on Wednesday and it was an eye-opener. I’ll try to describe it here but, if you get the chance, you really should go see it in person.

Waning Greatness

You don’t need to be a regular visitor to the message boards to know there are some serious problems brewing within the Arkansas Razorback basketball program.  So what is a fan to make of the most recent events?  Marcus Monk declared ineligible and the best point guard to put on a Hog uniform in a [...]

Pinch Me

A new era of Razorback athletics begins when Bobby Petrino unveils his team on Saturday.  And frankly, I haven’t been this excited about a season opener in a very long time. If you remember the predictions we made last month, you know I pushed my fellow RazorBloggers out of the way, drank the entire pitcher [...]

Building A Career

Sonny Weems had a very nice pro debut on Saturday night.  In his first game of the NBA Summer League, Weems scored 17 points on 8-of-15 shooting as his Denver Nuggets defeated the 76ers, 99-85. But what kind of pro will Weems be in the NBA?  That’s hard to tell right now, of course, but NBA scouts [...]

Passing Out Grades

The Razorbacks start the second half of the SEC schedule tonight with a tough, tough matchup against the #4-ranked Tennessee Volunteers.  But before we look ahead, let’s recap the season so far.

Wake Up Call

There are many words that could be used when trying to describe this year’s Razorback basketball team.  Right now, the one that comes to my mind the most is pathetic. Looking back, two things really define this program and its players over the last five years: lack of wins and lack of effort.

A Trip To Remember

I headed to Dallas over the weekend for my birthday…a surprise trip that my wife had planned for months.  Initially, the plan was just to watch the Mavericks play host to the Miami Heat on Friday night.  But as we were picked up at the airport by good friend HogN_TX, we had already decided that [...]

‘Adversity Is Coming’

Last Friday night’s game against Wofford proved that Coach Pelphrey and staff have their work cut out for them.  Trying to transition this Razorback team from last year’s slow down, methodical pace to an up-tempo, fast break and pressing style will not be easy.

Tipoff Time

I’ve seen my fair share of Razorback exhibition games over the years.  Sometimes they’re an early indicator of the season to come, and sometimes they don’t shed a whole lot of light for either the fans or the coaches. One thing I can say for certain after watching this team’s exhibition season is that it’s [...]
