Making Some Hay

Well, that went pretty well, didn’t it?  After taking three from Florida last weekend at home, the Hogs strolled into Auburn and swept three more from the Tigers.  The 6-0 start is the best SEC start in school history, and gives the Razorbacks (6-0, 16-4) an early two-game lead over Ole Miss and LSU.

Get Out The Brooms

Cloudy skies and cold temperatures didn’t cool off the Hogs’ bats this weekend as the Razorbacks started their SEC run with a three game sweep of the Florida Gators.  30 hits and 23 runs, combined with solid pitching and defense, made for a fun time at Baum Stadium.

Arkansas 13, California 3

ArkansasRazorbacks.com: Leavitt leads Razorbacks to series win Senior Chase Leavitt reached base 14 times in 17 plate appearances during the series and pounded out four hits on Sunday afternoon to lead the Arkansas baseball team to a 13-3 victory over the California Bears at Baum Stadium in front of a record-setting crowd.

California 12, Arkansas 6

ArkansasRazorbacks.com: Errors Seal Razorback Fate Senior Chase Leavitt was three-for-three at the plate and the Arkansas baseball team scored a season high six runs in the sixth, but neither was enough to overcome a pair of costly errors by the Razorbacks as they fell to California at Baum Stadium on Saturday afternoon, 12-6.

Pepperdine 4, Arkansas 3 (Stanford Regional)

Hogwired.com: Razorbacks Drop Game One of Regional, 4-3 Junior Chase Leavitt had two hits including a RBI single in the top of the ninth, but it wasn’t enough to push the Arkansas baseball team to an opening day win at the Stanford Regional as the Razorbacks fell 4-3 to Pepperdine on Friday.

Back On Track

After a dismal start to SEC play, Dave Van Horn’s Diamond Hogs are finally putting things together.  With a series win over Western Division-leading Ole Miss last weekend, the Razorbacks (26-18, 9-11) are still in position to challenge for the division title with nine conference games remaining.
